Fire Door Inspections
NFPA 80 Fire Door Inspections
Fire doors are critical life safety components that compartmentalize buildings and protect egress paths during fires. NFPA 80 requires annual inspection of all fire door assemblies by a qualified person. EB Life Safety provides comprehensive fire door inspection services throughout Florida, helping building owners maintain code compliance and protect occupants.
Our Inspection Process
Our qualified inspectors follow the NFPA 80 13-point inspection checklist to evaluate every fire door assembly in your building:

- No holes, breaks, or missing components in door or frame
- Fire-rated glazing is intact and properly labeled
- Clearances are within acceptable limits (3/4 inch bottom, 1/8 inch jambs)
- Self-closing devices function properly from any position
- Coordinators operate correctly on pairs of doors
- Latching hardware fully engages
- No prohibited hardware (kick-down stops, wedges)
- No unauthorized field modifications
- Seals and gasketing are intact
