Florida Fire Code Updates for 2025
Florida regularly updates its building and fire codes to incorporate the latest safety standards. Here are the key changes affecting fire protection and life safety in 2025.
Florida Building Code 8th Edition
The Florida Building Code 8th Edition, effective December 2024, incorporates changes from IBC 2021 with Florida amendments, NFPA 101 2021 Life Safety Code, and updated mechanical and electrical codes.

High-Rise Building Requirements
Enhanced emergency power requirements for elevators, updated refuge area provisions, clarified stairwell pressurization testing protocols, and new requirements for occupant evacuation elevators.
